Howdy, I was the programmer for The Case of Elias Granger.
Overall this project I focused on the development of the dialogue system. I spent nearly 40 hours on this project focusing on debugging the split-screen controller setup. There were plenty of issues presented with how controller inputs focus on widgets which became the greatest issue of this project. I spent an additional five hours focused on building the narrative for the game.
The largest issue presented in this project was communication between teams. The art team had steady communication between myself which was great for implementing new models quickly. The one area that was greatly slacking with communication was narrative. With the game focusing heavily on dialogue narrative was a necessity for me to accurately code our system. I should have been better about communicating with the narrative team to ensure for a stronger narrative and gameplay loop.
